Syria Insurance

After many years of civil war, Syria is considered unsafe for foreign nationals, but it may be possible to organise specialist Syria insurance directly through Lloyd’s of London. Due to the risks of widespread military and terrorist attacks and the specific targeting of foreign nationals for hostage, travel to Syria is strongly discouraged without expert advice, high-risk insurance and the strictest security precautions.

Potential dangers in Syria

For most businesses and NGOs, Syria has been a no-go area for many years and most foreign nationals have long gone.

However, we still support humanitarian workers, journalists and special advisors who are working in Syria, providing high-risk Personal Accident insurance, medical protection and Kidnap and Ransom insurance.

If you are sending people into Syria, we may be able to help with risk assessments, duty of care and security briefings, as well as cover for your employee, public and business liabilities.

Every case needs to be individually assessed – please talk to our experts to explore cover options for your people.
