War artist claims in Afghanistan
3 December 2014
A veteran war artist on his fourth trip embedded with the British Army in Afghanistan was shot in the arm by a Taliban sniper, suffering permanent disability to his left hand – the hand he uses to paint with.
As usual, he had organised Personal Accident insurance through Bellwood Prestbury before he travelled.
Stuart Dix, consultant at Bellwood Prestbury, has worked with Graeme to ensure he has received maximum compensation for his injury.
Stuart says: “We waited until the full extent of the injury was clear before processing the claim through the underwriters at Lloyd’s of London. I’m delighted that we were able to get the maximum compensation for Graeme, which has given him the time he needed to re-learn how to paint with his injured hand.”
