Tracking illness on your smartphone

Everyday thousands of people around the globe update social media sites like Facebook and Twitter when they (or someone close to them) get sick, posting comments such as "I'm sick", "the doctor says I have bronchitis”, or perhaps “my son has chickenpox.” 

A mobile phone app called Sickweather (www.sickweather.com) scans social networks for indicators of illness, allowing users to check for the chance of sickness as easily as you can check for the chance of rain.
