High-Risk Income Protection Insurance for Private Security Manager in Afghanistan
11 September 2012
Bellwood Prestbury recently helped a senior manager of a private security firm secure the cover he was anxious to obtain.
The manager of the security firm, based at the British Embassy in Afghanistan, was starting to worry that his job made him uninsurable. He had contacted a number of insurers and brokers, and none were able to help. His requirement: an insurance policy which would pay him if he was unable to continue to earn a living as a result of an accident or sickness.
As soon as he contacted Bellwood Prestbury, their team of experts knew they could help. Bellwood Prestbury specialise in providing bespoke insurance solutions to people working in high-risk occupations and/or remote locations, from offshore oil & gas engineers to land-based armed private security contractors; and countries where terrorism or political unrest are present such as Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia.
As a Lloyd’s Coverholder, Bellwood Prestbury immediately arranged his income protection insurance through Lloyd’s of London. The cover included a monthly income amount to cover his day-to-day living costs and a one-off lump sum if he became permanently totally disabled and unable to work again.
Rob Thompson, Director at Bellwood Prestbury, explains: “It’s all about speed of service and using a trusted brand: Bellwood Prestbury and Lloyd’s. As a Lloyd’s Coverholder, we can quote immediately and have cover in place within a very short timeframe.”
