Egypt insurance – specialist cover required?
21 November 2011
Unrest escalated in central Cairo this weekend, claiming the lives of at least 13 people. For anyone travelling to the capital of Egypt, insurance with war and terrorism inclusions may be worth considering.
Demonstrations around the Tahrir Square area of Egypt erupted into violence over Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th November 2011, leaving at least 13 people dead and up to a thousand injured. The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office is strongly advising British nationals to “…stay away from Tahrir Square, including the Egyptian Museum and the Downtown area of Cairo including Maspero and the Interior Ministry. British nationals should avoid all crowds and demonstrations.”
For business people working in Cairo or expats living in the city, standard insurance may not cover death or injury caused as a result of civil unrest. Bellwood Prestbury can advise on suitable Egypt insurance that will remain valid, no matter how the situation develops. We can provide cover for people, business liabilities and property, travel disruption, medical emergencies and more.
