Bellwood Prestbury, Lloyd’s Coverholder, add International Life Insurance to their Binding Authority

9 March 2012

Bellwood Prestbury, the global insurance specialist, have now been granted authority by Lloyd’s of London to accept life insurance risks on their behalf.

Following Bellwood Prestbury's success as a Lloyd’s Coverholder for Personal Accident Insurance, they can now create bespoke life insurance for individuals and groups, which provides cover for as little as a few hours to as much as ten years.

Bellwood Prestbury’s target markets are non-standard, high risk occupations and/or remote locations, which other providers shy away from. Examples include armed security guards, demining operators, and countries where terrorism or political unrest present a heightened risk, such as Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia.

Rob Thompson, Director at Bellwood Prestbury, explains: “For clients it’s all about speed and using a trusted brand: Bellwood Prestbury and Lloyd’s. As a Lloyd’s Coverholder, we can quote immediately and have cover in place within a very short timeframe.”

Becoming a Lloyd’s Coverholder involved a thorough assessment, which included a review of our industry experience, how we conduct business, our systems, our processes and our overall financial stability. Rob Thompson added: “It is a great accolade to be accepted – being approved as a Lloyd’s Coverholder demonstrates that we have successfully passed the rigorous due diligence process applied by Lloyd’s. This will provide total reassurance to our clients that we are a high quality business.”
