The British Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) has issued a warning for British nationals to exercise extra caution in Nairobi due to the heightened threat of terrorism in the Kenyan capital. This may impact on standard Kenya insurance.

The updated Kenya travel advice posted on the 7th January 2012, states that:
“The Kenyan authorities have alerted the public to a heighted threat: We believe that terrorists may be in the final stages of planning attacks… which could target Kenyan institutions as well as places where expatriates and foreign travellers gather…”
